Chester-Blandford State Forest has twenty primitive campsites with well water and portable toilets. No showers, but there are many good river bathing sites nearby. Sanderson Brook Falls (shown at the top of the page) is an amazing attraction. Exploring the trails throughout the state forest is a pleasant and relaxing experience. Nearby, Boulder Park features an easy-graded Universal Access interpretive trail and pavilion amidst shady Eastern Hemlocks.

There are many trials for the experienced to the less demanding. Try H. Newman March Memorial Trail for a challenging climb to the top of Observation Hill, with many views spanning across the scenic Westfield River valley (pictured above). Also discover the historic Jacob’s Ladder Scenic Byway (US Route 20) as it climbs up and over the beautiful Berkshire Hills.
